WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION MANAGEMENT DIRECTORATE

This Directorate is responsible for production, treatment, transportation and distribution of water to customers. It is also responsible for provision of Sanitation Services.

Roles and Functions

1. To abstract water from sources and treat water

2. To transmit water from plants to reservoirs

3. To distribute water to the service areas

4. To operate and maintain water supply infrastructures

5. To collect, treat, and dispose waste water

6. To manage and maintain sewerage infrastructures


CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTORATE

The Directorate is responsible in provision of expertise on customer service.

Roles and Functions
  • To provide customer services as per customer services charter
  • To oversee monthly water sales and billing processes
  • To oversee revenue collection processes
  • To oversee the credit and debt control processes
  • To receive and monitor the resolution of customer queries and complaints
  • To oversee the Authority's ICT processes

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND ADMINSTRATION DIRECTORATE

Roles and Functions:

1. To interpret public service regulations, standing orders and labour laws

2. To oversee the implementation of ethics and values

3. To administer and oversee implementation of activities such as recruitment

4. To ensure optimal, efficient and effective management

5. To coordinate workers council and trade union affairs.


ZONE OFFICES

Zone Offices are sub offices for Water Authorities that operate to more than one region/district/town.

Role and functions:

1. To create new customer accounts in the billing system

2. To monitor new connections within the region

3. Plan and supervise meter reading cycles

4. Monitor customer database and billing system

5. Attend customer complaints

FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS UNIT

Finance and Accounts Unit is charged with the overall responsibility of managing Finance and Authority's Accounts

.
Roles and Functions:

1. Develop and maintain financial accounting system for management accounts.

2. Monitor, evaluate and maintain the Authority's Accounts

3. Coordinate implementation of Auditors recommendations
